We need Parent Volunteers in the classroom!

SOME WAYS YOU CAN PARTICIPATE

Volunteering time in the classroom and on field trips. "It is a great way to get to know your child, their friends, their teacher, and the school. It is truly a lot of fun to participate."

This is a quote from John, Charleen & Paul Hinrichsen, Volunteers

Being a driver for field trips. "I had no idea this could be so much fun! I want to go along on all of Mr. Heinbaugh's field trips."

This is a quote from Fortuna Ippoliti, Volunteer

Spending time and helping out in the classroom. "I am convinced this experience changed my child from a potential loser, to a winner. I got to know my son's school, his friends, and I got to know my son. And we had fun! Fifth grade is clearly a pivotal, make-it-or-break-it-year, in a child's life."

This is a quote from Deirdre' Campbell, Volunteer

If you have an idea or talent you think might provide a good educational opportunity, by all means please let me know about it. I am always open to new ideas and suggestions.

“PARENT POWER”

PARENTS AND FAMILIES OF STUDENTS, most of you have no idea how much power you really have. You can influence school site policy making, program development, and the list goes on and on. Our Public Schools need serious reform and we need you -- for the sake of our children! Turn off the TV set. Unplug the Nintendo. Be a parent first, a best friend second. Follow through on promises. Be firm with your discipline. Be fair. Love them.

Parent Power also includes your involvement and participation in your child's education. COME VISIT AND SPEND TIME IN THE CLASSROOM! You are strongly encouraged and welcome to visit any time, just be sure to stop and obtain a Visitor's Pass in the Office first.

VOLUNTEER DIRECTLY IN THE CLASSROOM! That is one of the best ways to be a direct part of your child’s educational process. Doing PTA projects, etc. are great and noble, however those projects are indirect participation with your child’s education. Volunteering directly in the classroom is direct participation in your child’s future. It’s your classroom too… come be a part of it.

Please visit the Mike’s Math Club’s web site. You will also find a link to their web site here on my web site on the “Special Links” page. I also highly recommend parents to purchase their book “The Monstrously Fun Fractions Book”. It makes fractions fun!
